Takao Ochi Profile
Takao Ochi was born in 1979. Since graduating from Osaka University of Arts, specialising in photography, I worked as a documentary photographer based in Tokyo. In 2000, I started to documented sports for the disabled to coincide with the Sydney Paralympic, and in 2012, to help raise funds for Paralympian of Japanese athlete , he caused a stir by publishing 10,000 copies of a semi-nude calendar of her. In the true to the spirit of the ‘Calendar Girls’ it was a calendar presenting prosthesis tastefully to raise awareness. Since 2013, I have worked closely with prosthetics specialist Usui Fumio, to document his patients to create a series titled Setsudan Venus (Amputee Venus).
